Terra Cabra – Musée de la chèvre et du picodon
Visit site identified as "Tasty Steps of Ardèche®", and "Thematic Center of the Parc des Monts d'Ardèche". Around twenty farm producers and refiners of goat cheese and Picodon AOP tell you about their know-how during a visit.
Located in Planzolles, above the Peytot maturing workshop which brings together around twenty goat producers, this museum is an invitation to discover the goat industry. The maturing cellars combine in one place a cheese production activity and the discovery of a scenography: landscaping, breeding, milking, manufacturing and finally, the alchemy of cheese, from drying to maturing.
The space opens onto the secrets that give Picodon its finesse. Terra Cabra aims to be informative but also educational. Children and adults will be able to do some manipulations, watch a film, touch, smell, play and answer questions. Here, they will also be able to taste at the end of the tour the different degrees of ripening of a Picodon AOP goat cheese in the heart of the Ardèche Cévennes.
