From the crests of Tanargue, come and take in the view! A landscape open to the Cévennes d'Ardèche.
Thunder of Ardèche
Nicknamed the Thunder Mountain, Tanargue is located on the watershed between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. The Col de Meyrand, located at an altitude of 1 m, marks the passage between the Ardèche mountains and the Cévennes d'Ardèche.
At the top, you will enjoy suspended moments dominating all the surrounding valleys and distant mountains. And yes, you can see the Alps and Mont Ventoux!
“The must”, a breathtaking sunset!
The steep foothills of the Tanargue are part of the Regional Natural Park of the Monts d'Ardèche.
This rich and fragile environment presents an enormous reservoir of biodiversity, nature and wildlife: beech forests, fir forests, peat bogs, moors, meadows, etc.

1 kilometer on foot, it wears you out, it wears you out…
With good shoes on your feet, you will explore the many hiking trails: the GR® de Pays the Tour of Tanargue, GR® of the Cévenol region, the GR®4 or the GR®7… Roaming, for the day or half-day, so many possibilities to discover the wild Cévennes d'Ardèche.
Ready to get high?!
For thrill seekers, the Tanargue in the Cévennes d'Ardèche is a site of paragliding flight which will offer you a breathtaking view of the Ardèche plateau, the Beaume Valley and the Ardèche Mountains. Fly safely with professional paragliding instructors!

You will go downhill on a mountain bike!
Hurtle down the slopes between mule tracks and Cévennes ledges, return to the limestone plains using the strength of your calves. This is the promise of the Great Crossing of the ArdècheA 336 km route which crosses the Ardèche department from North to South.
So you have been warned, the Ardèche by mountain bike is magnificent, but it is worth it. Today's trails are neither more nor less than trails used in the past by mules to transport goods, but they didn't have any gear problems!
