Les sens en-mêlée, jeu de dégustation inspiré du rugby
Monday, July 14
Domaine de Cassagnole 1067 Chemin du Ron Redon 07460 Berrias-et-Casteljau
A dynamic and fun wine tasting experience where each team will have to mobilize their senses, memory, and team spirit to tackle various wine-related challenges. Similar to a rugby match, this tasting takes place in four key stages.
Pre-match talk: Welcome and team formation
Participants are divided into teams and given a glass and a piece of paper in their team's colors. A brief presentation of the Domaine de Cassagnole and an explanation of the rules of the game are provided.
1st half: Combinations of the senses
The goal here is to awaken the senses and test the participants' recognition skills through two challenges:
-“The color test”: Each player must taste and guess the color of the wine only blindly (black glasses).
-“Aroma Alignment”: Vials containing typical wine aromas (red fruits, citrus fruits, etc.) are offered to participants. Each team must match the vials to the corresponding aromas.
2nd half: The taste test
This part challenges the teams' memory and sensory analysis skills.
-“Decisive Pass”: The facilitator gives a detailed description of a wine (aromatic notes, mouthfeel, grape varieties, terroir). The team must identify the corresponding wine from several options using their knowledge and intuition.
-“In my wine there is…”: A wine is served to all participants at the same time. In turn, each player must give a word describing the wine by starting their sentence with: “in my wine there is…”. This can be a sensation, an emotion, a memory or an aroma perceived in the wine. The next player must repeat the previous sentence by adding a word. No word must be forgotten or replaced!
3rd half: Rugby would be nothing without its famous third half, and neither would this tasting!
-Award ceremony: The winning team receives a symbolic reward
-Free tasting and discussions, anecdotes from the winemaker: Audrey or Simon share some stories from the estate, the vineyard and the winemaking process.
