Le Chassezac, is regulated by several dams throughout the summer season.

Supporting low water levels means adding water to rivers during periods of deficit. This helps ensure the ecological continuity of the environment and supports various uses, including drinking water supply, irrigation, and recreation. The water used to support the Chassezac's low water levels comes from natural and artificial reserves: lakes or hydroelectric dams located in the basin and neighboring areas.

Limit to preserve: a river protected in summer

To preserve our exceptional territory, a policy of regulating canoeing during the high season has been implemented, from July 14 to August 24. The navigable Chassezac is mainly located in areas Natura 2000 et Sensitive Natural Area, areas classified for their rare biodiversity, but also for their fragility. Due to an increase in pressure on natural environments in recent decades, local authorities have chosen to implement quotas on canoes during the peak season.

This river preservation policy will allow you to explore the Chassezac in the best possible conditions, while limiting your impact on natural spaces.
