Mountain biking in Ardèche: individually or in a group
Many circuits are scattered throughout the department and are accessible to both families and individuals. Whether on forest trails or long-distance hiking trails, the trails are all marked, so it is entirely possible to go on a mountain bike ride in Ardèche alone.
On the other hand, you will find circuits with very different levels of difficulty, both in the distance to be covered and in the importance of the difference in altitude or technical difficulty. Thus, families with young children will also be able to enjoy the landscape in complete safety, while seasoned mountain bikers will enjoy more serious mountain bike circuits in Ardèche, such as the Grande Traversée de l'Ardèche, from north to south.
Mountain biking in Ardèche: loops or circuits
You can go on a mountain bike ride in Ardèche. Some last a few hours, while others are much longer and allow you to go for a day. For example, one of the two mountain bike circuits in Les Vans consists of a fault that runs along the Ardèche on one side and allows you to go mountain biking in the Cévennes on the other. In both versions, the loop only lasts a few hours and is accessible to everyone.
You will find mountain bike trails all over the department and you will be able to discover the different landscapes that make up the Ardèche, from the green Ardèche to the southern Ardèche via the Ardèche mountains. You will cross vineyards, woods, landscapes where many ruins will amaze you. You will ride on stony tracks as well as on forest paths and discover charming villages. You will see magnificent panoramas from the mountain peaks.
